Frequently Asked Questions about 3 Shades of Blue Web Design

All answers are to frequently asked questions about our web design service.

3 Shades of Blue Inc. was incorporated in 2007, however we have been doing web design since 1998. We have designed hundreds of websites ranging from small personal sites to large corporate sites.

Well…3 things to start. First is a domain name. (basically the address of your website) Second is a hosting service, which will also solve the domain name as they usually provide the domain name for free for the fist year. Third is a great web design company like 3 Shades of Blue Web Design to handle all this and more.

This is one of the top 3 questions. Simple answer…as long as you have provided all the necessary content for the site time from start to finish is relatively short. A lot depends on the number of pages. Normal turn around time for a 5-7 page site is 2 weeks.

These are both coding languages and markups to determine how you site is coded. Both are similar, but the main distinction  between the two is that a CMS (content management system) or worpress sites were originally designed as a blog. That has changed to include fully designed websites including a blog that can be utilized by the client with some training to make changes on their own with little or no knowledge of coding. A HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) site is a fully customized website that is coded to reflect best practices and can be designed in an infinite number of ways to reflect what the client specifically wants.

Absolutely it can, but only if it is coded correctly. It used to be you had to have 2 sites designed. One for computers and one for phones, but not anymore. Since late 2011 “responsive” web design has come into play and sites can now be coded to be seen on all devices (no double tapping required). It does take a lot more time to do and can increase your bottom line, but it is less expensive than having 2 sites built instead of just one. 3 Shades of Blue Web Design only codes for responsive design.

Of-course we do! All of the sites we design come with a 90 day free maintenance for minor changes. After that nominal charges would apply for changes or you could enter into a economical monthly maintenance agreement if required.

We always offer our clients the ability to see the progress of their website during the design and construction phases. This is what sets us apart from the competition.

Creating a presence on the web or “Branding” yourself, your service or your product takes a lot of work. Not everyone is a Nike, but that is not to say with a bit of work both on our part and yours, you can be recognized rather quickly. It has to do with a number of factors. SEO or Search Engine Optimization is just a small part. How you get noticed on Google, Bing and Yahoo is what we always incorporate into each of our clients websites. However, marketing which we offer suggestions as well is also an important part of getting noticed. There are many avenues to succeed at this and we can direct you down that path.
